Adelbrook Behavioral & Development Services (Hartford, CT)
December 22nd, 2021
After more than 100 years of caring for children and their families, Ädelbrook continues to adapt to meet the changing needs of the community while remaining dedicated to the principles of its original mission to provide a home for homeless and neglected children.
Based in Cromwell, Connecticut Ädelbrook serves 300 children and young adults and their families with Autism and other behavioral and developmental challenges through a range of educational, residential, and in-home and community-based programming. Ädelbrook supports children from more than 50 school districts throughout the state of CT and from communities across the country.
Ädelbrook’s main campus includes a primary congregate residence for 29 residents who rely on laundering services, while the operations team also uses the machinery to maintain clean sheets and materials for day-to-day use. As a result, machines are running nearly 24 hours a day and continuously break, requiring significant resources to fix and maintain the equipment.
Throughout the process of planning for the donated equipment, the Ädelbrook team shared that increased capacity and capability from these units is instrumental in helping meet the needs of their youth. With the install taking place just before the holiday and new year, Eric Jorgenson, Brandon Shaw and the CSC Hartford Branch team were thrilled to have been able to offer peace of mind through reliable laundering services to Ädelbrook and their clients.
