Allies for Every Child & There is Hope Foster Family Agency (Los Angeles, CA)

Allies for Every Child is on a mission to provide hope by making a difference in the lives of children and families. Their foster care programs provide stable, loving, nurturing homes for youth who are unable to live with their biological families as a result of various circumstances

There is Hope Foster Family Agency champions parents and caregivers, knowing that research has proven that the presence of one stable, nurturing caregiver is often all that it takes to make children resilient in the face of adversity.

For the southern California CSC ServiceWorks team, services for our customers and community go beyond laundry and air operations—installing and maintaining refrigerators in apartment communities is also a part of the local branch’s operations. Over time, the Los Angeles Branch team had accumulated a stock of gently used refrigerator units and identified a unique opportunity to not only give these units a second life but provide them to members of the community who are in need of this essential home item.

The team connected with two LA-based foster care organizations through CSC’s CommunityWorks program and donated a total of 47 fridges to Allies for Every Child and There is Hope Foster Family Agency. These incredible organizations and their foster families provide impactful services to hundreds of youth in the greater LA area, and through the CommunityWorks program, fridge donations have gone directly into early education centers and loving homes of foster families who are taking care of children with neglected, abusive and/or traumatic upbringings.

Leaders of both organizations gave the team deep appreciation from foster families who received the donations—sharing that families had been using fridges well past their expiration, but were not able to afford a replacement, and others who were thrilled to gain additional fresh food storage space for meals to feed their family members.

Between these donations and another 50 fridges donated to the local LA Habitat for Humanity, the CSC LA Branch team found homes for nearly 100 fridges that will serve countless community members within the greater LA region.
