Casa Central (Chicago, IL)

Casa Central transforms lives and strengthens communities, with a special focus on the Hispanic community. Their network of social services propels a diverse population of all ages toward self-sufficiency and a higher quality of life.

The programs that Casa Central provides to their community members ranges from childcare to job training and domestic violence prevention. Two of their many centers in the greater Chicago are serves families experiencing homelessness. Between these two centers and housing facilities, there are 22 families, equating to over 100 individuals, who are being served at any given time.

The Casa Central team helps restore their livelihoods by providing interim housing, case management and support services. Laundry machine and service donations from the CommunityWorks program provides better laundry facilities for these families who would otherwise be searching for access to clean clothes or navigating challenging solutions to do their own laundry.
