CSC ServiceWorks team members save man from drowning
March 26th, 2018
In early 2018, two Air-serv team members became real-life heroes for one man.
The incident took place mid-afternoon on a highway near Den Bosch in The Netherlands. Roy Mangels, Service Manager, and Theo Frederiks, Senior Routetech/Installer, witnessed an accident that sent a car spinning into a pond, upside-down. The driver was trapped in the vehicle as it began to fill up with water. Roy and Theo pulled over in their service van and jumped in to save the man, pulling him out of the car through the rear hatch when the doors wouldn’t open.
Later, the police gave the men a bouquet of flowers with a thank-you note about their “heroic performance.” They were invited to the police station and had this photo taken with the officers. Nick Janssen, Managing Director of The Netherlands, Belgium, and Germany, said, “I am very proud of what the guys did.”
About the rescue, Roy said, “Theo and I could not imagine to not have stopped the vehicle to do what we believe anybody should have done.”
Theo and Roy have been with Air-serv since 2008 and have been in the industry for 18 and 15 years, respectively.
